OoOoOoh I do love Grattan, only ever done it on two wheels obviously. All the muscle car folks seem terrified of it but I'll see if I could swing the drive out on a Monday night.... Our dog has fancy obedience training that night too :/

Im just going to be honest and say "nah" now.

Its a monday, "$150 for 60 mins", and more importantly I should AutoCross first before going to a track. Don't want to crash and die in my DD.

Definitely want some track time, but there will be plenty of events and looking at the start time I'm not sure I can take the day off work either. I'll think about it though!

we'll an autocross is 40$ for 5 minutes so if you scale that up, you'd be paying upwards of 450$ by that mindset. Plus there are instructors and paced laps to get to know what you're doing. And grattan is a ducking insane little track. I found Miller motorsports park to be a bit boring after doing autocrosses at grattan.

Eh, compared to how expensive other Michigan track days tend to be and how crowded they can get, this is a decent value. And my bosses take half days all the time to golf. So this time it's my turn to take a half day and do some laps.

I'd run the course in my Milan for laughs, but there's no chance of me getting to the other side of the state on a Monday night. Besides having a full time 9-5 job, I also have a 2 year old and a pregnant wife.

While the family is a valid reason, may I point out that tracking a rented car that you hate is the automotive equivalent of a revenge-hate fuck. You know you want to do it. Just once. Just to say you did. Just so that, one day, when someone asks why you don't like the prius and that you should consider a leaf and that the insight is so wonderful.....you look them dead in the eye and say, truthfully, "I drove one once. I had it as a rental. Didn't handle the racetrack as well as I would've liked." then you wait for that look of shock on their face as they think about what you just said. Give it a moment. Then follow up "I just wish the batteries held a bit more charge. The electric motor put in some good work though." By now, their feeble mind can't comprehend this and is trying to make excuses and apologies for it. They may be crying. In either case, you lean in and finish them off. Whisper gently in their ear ".......But you should've heard those tires scream for mercy......and you should've heard my right foot say....'no' ". Then slowly turn around, walk away, and get in the montego. Burble away slowly. Just when they think you're gone for good? Give it a quick stab of throttle to remind them who you are. And leave them behind as a shell of their former selves, crying in grief for their beloved prius.....

Ha, damnit! But I'm actually ranked in the 98% at Kart2Kart and I've only been there like 10 times. So I know I don't suck at racing lines, I just don't know the Crossfire at the limit … because its limits are so high ;)

That was fantastic. If anything came from today, I got to read that.

But I don't do foreign vehicles. Say what you will, but they aren't my thing. I respect the capabilities of foreign vehicles but like I said - not for me. I'm a big 3 2.5 kind of guy.

I'd rather track the old Montego before sitting in a Prius.

The only intelligent set up for hybrid plug ins is the Volt method. Full electric with a gas powered range extender. Everything else is stupid at this point.
